Historical tips of Borgo Torre dell’OCA
Because of it’s position on the highest hill of the area that could dominate either on coastal end the inner land, in 1600es this location was chosen as the perfect place to build a watchtower that could get signals from the sea and transmit them to the towns around.
In 1800es, the Lord of the land, decided to build “tullo houses” around the tower so it became a little farm that produced vine, milk, cheese and olive oil.
Because of it’s wonderful view and it’s strategic position, the village became a point of reference for the inhabitants of the area: it happens many times that people pass by telling us stories about their grandparents who used to come to play or buy milk when they were children!
